With the London Olympics fresh in everyone's mind, it is interesting to look at back at past Olympic firework displays.
An Olympic Opening Ceremony marks the official start of an Olympic games and the Closing ceremony the end, when the flame is extinguished. There are certain traditions that take place in both events, such as the parade of nations and the handing over of the Olympic Flag. In recent years fireworks have become a big feature in proceedings, the budget for the London Olympics fireworks was in excess of £250,000.
