When you buy fireworks online for the first time it can be a daunting experience. If at any point, you would rather just talk it over, give the Fireworks Direct team a call on 0845 208 0241. Our staff can talk you through the fireworks for sale on the website along with advising you on everything from noise levels, firing orders and fireworks safety. Here are main things to consider when you buy fireworks online:
• How many fireworks do you want to light?
If you'd rather just light one fuse and watch your fireworks display, look no further than the Fireworks Direct single ignition fireworks display boxes. If you’re happy to light as many fireworks as it takes to keep everyone happy, then make sure you include rocket fireworks, as they provide the most spectacular effects.
• Is noise an issue for your fireworks display?
Fireworks Direct caters for both the noisiest and most sensitive firework displays. If you’re worried about upsetting kids or nearby animals, see our quiet fireworks collection to avoid loud bangs without compromising on quality.
We also recommend that you notify neighbours when planning a display, particularly if it’s outside of the less common nights for letting off fireworks (i.e. Bonfire Night and New Year’s Eve).
• How do I structure my fireworks display?
The best firework displays are well planned with a beginning, middle and an end. The firework used at the start should grab your audience’s attention and the finale should leave an impression!
Browse our firework packages, all of which consist open, middle and finale fireworks. Look out for the ones with rocket fireworks to get a fabulous combination!
Alternatively, you could start with one of our single ignition fireworks then add a finale of your choice.
• Will the audience be able to see everything?
We have an incredible selection of ground fireworks including Catherine Wheels and fountains. These can complement the more aerial fireworks or work as standalone effects, especially if noise is an issue – but will the audience be able to see them? If you’re firing from behind a wall or up on a raised surface, then the answer may be no.
• How long should my fireworks display last?
We can only advise you of our opinion on this one, but consider the following: is your fireworks display the main event of the evening? If not (ie it’s a wedding, where the fireworks will be one of several highlights), then between four and eight minutes is perfect. Any longer and you will lose to WOW factor of your fireworks display. Think of those best man speeches which start off really funny but then drag on to over half an hour, you don’t want people wishing your display was shorter. Leave them wanting more, as they say! If, however, you are hosting a bonfire night party, whether it be at home or for a Scout Club or School PTA fireworks evening, then it needs to be longer...but not too long. Aim for 20 minutes, and if it goes over that by a couple of minutes, then fine. Remember, with Category 3 display fireworks, it is always far more likely to run over time than come up short because of the time it takes to light each firework.
Our experience has seen that four to six minutes works well for weddings and other occasions while twenty is ideal for NYE or Bonfire Night. No matter what the budget, these average durations work, trust us!
